Wal-Mart Looking For Help From Overseas Stores

Wal-Mart used to always be famous for their ‘everday low prices’. Unfortaunetly for the past year or so they have been focusing more on keeping track of the latest fashion and impressing us with the restaurants that they have put into every store. Well we are happy to report that they have abondened this ideas and are looking to help out the consumer once more by giving them the lower prices that they crave and need to survive.

Oil Prices Getting Higher

If there is one thing that every consumer is tired of at the moment it would have to be gas prices. Consumers are tired of the fluctuation in gas prices every week. And the fact that they usually tend to stay at high prices doesn’t help matters. World oil prices rose above $61 this afternoon, gaining from news of a slide to stocks of US petrol, and amid tensions in crude producers Iran and Nigeria that may further affect supplies.

Lowe’s Remains Positive Even While Profit Drops

It was stated in the news that the home improvement retailer Lowe’s Cos. reported an increase in earnings that they did not expect, even as the weak housing market hurt results, and its shares rose as much as 6 percent to an all-time high. As it said sales could start to turn upward this year. “We believe our (same-store sales) performance has bottomed and we expect to see gradual improvement” in 2007, Lowe’s Chairman Robert Niblock told analysts during a conference call.
