Macy’s is one of the top stores that sells some of the most expensive – but best quality merchandise. It seems though that with everything going on this year (gas prices and such) people were unable to shop there as much as they would hope (and Macy’s would hope). Because of low sale numbers Macy’s is forced to close down stores – shutting down over 800 jobs.
Wal-Mart has become the number one store where most people will go to find anything they need. They can find food, toiletries and even furniture all for a promised low price. But is what they’re selling hurting other people?
A nonprofit organization in Washington D.C. – The Environmental Investigation Agency (EIA) – believes that the Chinese makers that distribute their wood products (such as furniture) in Wal-Mart could be cutting down and using wood from a Russian region protected forest and endangering the Siberian tigers that live there.
