In order to make things a bit easier on the company and its employees the CEO’s of Yahoo and Apple are taking a serious pay cut. Yahoo released an amendment to their annual report that showed CEO Jerry Yang was paid only $1 during 2007. Likewise CEO of Apple – Steve Jobs – was also paid a salary of $1.
‘Tis the year for recalling toys. First their was the recall of all toys made with lead paint and now Aqua Dots is being recalled because it has been tainted with the date rape drug. The many toy recalls is putting the scare into toy retailers who are worried that with Christmas just around the corner their usual phenomenal sales will be grim.
For years the number one place to rent movies was Blockbuster. It has worked hard to beat away its enemies and become the top dog in the competition. But as times change Blockbuster finds itself facing a new enemy, Netflix. Investors and consumers are watching a typical big-screen story line unfold: A fast start, followed by a surprise plot twist. What many don’t see yet is the happy ending.
